Junior Agronomist

Full-time, Tavira, Portugal

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Agronomist to join our team and support our cannabis cultivation process. In this role, you’ll work closely with our senior agronomists and production team to ensure optimal plant growth, assist in quality control, and help maintain compliance with local regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about agriculture and sustainability to gain hands-on experience in the cannabis industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing and training the cultivation team.

  • Aid in planning and organising daily and weekly cultivation activities.

  • Support IPM (Integrated Pest Management) planning and spraying schedules.

  • Introduce innovative ideas and products for problem-solving.

  • Assist with trial design and management of variables.

  • Perform hands-on cultivation tasks (e.g., pruning, plant moves, bios release) as needed.

  • Provide coverage for fertigation and environmental agronomist duties, including:

  • Planning irrigation programs and adjusting based on plant water status.

  • Preparing fertiliser tanks and monitoring weekly fertiliser usage.

  • Setting up and moving sensors, checking drainage stations, and performing irrigation treatments.

  • Cleaning and maintaining pipes and fertiliser tanks

  • MS Office Proficiency: Skilled in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Trial Design & Data Collection: Competent in setting up trials, defining variables, and collecting accurate data on schedule.

  • Data Transformation, Interpretation, & Reporting: Skilled in gathering and analysing data and presenting findings clearly and concisely.

    Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) in Agriculture or Agricultural Engineering.

    Experience: Entry-level; no prior experience required.
